tl;dr Starting in January I'll work for the Mozilla Services Team and will be based in Hamburg, Germany.
It's been almost four years since I left my hometown and old career and moved to Norway, doing Plone development full time at Jarn. For a while now I've been looking for a change of scenery. Unfortunately Jarn's plans to establish a presence in Berlin didn't work out, so I was back in small town Norway for the past eight months.
At the same time I've been using Plone for almost ten years and started engaging with the community nine years back. It's been an exciting and wonderful time, but as of late my enthusiasm has faded away. On the other hand I've witnessed an immense community energy at this years living status sprint and the Plone Conference 2011. I'm certain the striving and ever renewing community will move Plone to the next level - it's just going to be without much of my time.
Now I'm looking forward to an excellent new team. And a new opportunity to contribute to Open Source software and making the web a better place. Catch me in Hamburg, San Francisco and maybe in a Mozilla Berlin office soon. Or in #distutils, #pylons or related Python projects :)
So long and thanks for all the Plone,
P.S. Alex Limi cannot be blamed for my departure at all - it was entirely Tarek's fault ;)
